ABOUT
CAPTAIN
MARK

"A master fishing guide has to be many things: Expert boatsman, eagle-eyed fish finder, patient coach."

Greetings from Captain Mark Hall. Thank you for your interest in a day on the water with me. Born in Louisiana and raised in Pennsylvania- my passion for fishing began at an early age and has remained a significant part of my life since. I took up fishing in earnest, and by my early 20's I became a U.S. coast guard certified Captain. I started my guiding career as a fly fishing guide in Miami, Fl. specializing in Peacock Bass and fishing the flats of Biscayne Bay.

After guiding in Miami for 25+ years I relocated to the Treasure Coast. The Indian River Lagoon is a fantastic place to fish year round. Several of the most sought after game fish can be caught here, including Snook, Trout, Redfish, Tarpon, Flounder, and Sharks (on either fly or spinning tackle- your choice!). I truly enjoy fishing and sharing my love for the sport with others. The excitement of going fishing still keeps me up the night before.

Through my experience as a fishing guide Captain, I understand the importance of not only being determined to put anglers on fish, but also being patient and providing an enjoyable and entertaining day on the water. I am able to accommodate both experienced and beginning anglers and will supply all the tackle for fly fishing or spin fishing that you may need. If you have some special tackle you want to use, that will be suitable for the task, you are welcome to bring it along.

Let me know what your desires are for the day and I will try to fulfill your every request. The time of year and weather conditions are important, however I will make sure to do everything I can to get you on the catch you came for!  Book a local trip here in the Indian River Lagoon and we can pole the flats for Snook, Redfish, Trout, Tarpon, Barracuda, Snapper, Sharks you name it. Or head out on an adventure- 100 miles south- to Miami, Fl. where I offer either a full day of flats fishing on Biscayne Bay (Permit, Bonefish, Snook, Tarpon, Jacks). Or a full day on the always abundant, urban, freshwater canal system to fight one of the aggressive and exotic Peacock Bass.

In the interest of conserving our natural resources I practice Catch and Release fishing (do however use fish for bait though). I fish for the love, sport and adventure of fishing. If you are looking to fill a cooler, unfortunately I'm not your guy. If you enjoy the challenge & reward of the sport without necessarily terminating the fish's existence then let's go fishing! We'll take a bunch of pictures to record your catch and release the fish to be caught again another day, maybe by you next year, a few pounds heavier (the fish that is).

If you are considering a fishing charter on the Treasure Coast I'd be honored to have you on board and show you the amazing fishery we have in this region. Please view the "Trips & Rates" page for a more in depth review of the types of services I offer, current rates, what's included, and what to bring. Tight Lines!!
